Highlight of the Olympic Games

The highlights of the last chinese Olympic Games were not only sports but politics.

Two of the world most important newspapers among others (Guardian and New York Times), released articles criticising racisist advertising by the spanish basketball team.

Probably the advertising is inappropriate and politically incorrect, but those who complained and called the attention were not chinese but american and english.

In one hand, United States is a society formed by inmigrants, where there are still signs of racism in their society (notice that the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination was ratified until 1994 - almos 30 years after it was opened to signatures by the United Nations, organization founded by the United States) . In the other hand, imperialistic english did not conquer lands by friendly measures witht their natives (see Australia), and still have a moral guilt for it.

But the matter is, whether those states are going to point out the lack of political correctness of other nations, they also should do it without discrimination to other nations, as mere China for instance, the human rights abuses committed, censorship of the regime, etc.

Is that an hypocratical and selective attitud, ruled by thier own political or economic interest?
